The WFCA Health Care Program offers dental coverage through Delta Dental of Washington and offers three different tiers of life insurance coverage through Standard Insurance Company.
Delta Dental of Washington (DDW) is Washington's leading dental benefits company and includes nearly 90% of Washington dentists in its network. Delta Dental of Washington is a not-for-profit organization and a member of the nationwide Delta Dental Plans Association. The WFCA Health Care program contracts with Delta Dental of Washington to provide two plan dental coverage options: the PPO-Incentive Plan and the PPO-Basic Plan. Each dental plan can be purchased with or without orthodontia coverage. Retirees are also eligible to purchase dental coverage but only when purchasing the Retiree Medical Plan, at the time of retiring from active service. Fire service personnel retiring from active service are not eligible to purchase dental coverage independently of medical coverage.
The WFCA Health Care Program through Standard Insurance Company offers six Basic Life and Accidental Death & Dismemberment plan options for our member fire service organizations. Active employees who are enrolled in either the Core Life/AD&D and/or the Basic Life/AD&D can obtain additional Supplemental Life insurance at their own expense.
A Core Life/AD&D benefit of $2,000 is provided by the Health Care Program for all active employees and active commissioners enrolled in one of the self-funded medical plans with the exception of the Retiree Plan.
Available to member fire service organizations to purchase for their employees when the fire service organization is participating in one or more of the WFCA sponsored self-funded medical or dental plans. Available coverage options range from $5,000 to $100,000 of life insurance.
Each paid employee is provided with the opportunity to purchase additional amounts of coverage. In order to participate, an employee must be covered under the Core Life Plan or the Basic Life Plan. Fire Commissioners, retirees and volunteers are not eligible to purchase a Supplemental Life Plan. Coverage is available in $10,000 increments up to a maximum of $300,000 for employees.
