Jim provides technical support and policy guidance to the Health Care Committee and the Board of Directors. He also works directly with the Health Care Program’s insurance consultant and broker and third-party administrator to ensure the Program’s operating activities are funded correctly and run effectively and efficiently. He is the WFCA contact for Fire District’s and their employees and families regarding program administration and/or individual health care needs. Jim is also the primary contact for the State Risk Manager and State Auditor regarding state level regulatory and reporting requirements.
Jim worked for state government prior to joining the staff at the WFCA. He was involved with executive branch financial management working for the Office of Financial Management and was involved in financial policy development and resource allocation decisions working for the Ways and Means Committee supporting the state budget adopted by the House of Representatives. He finished his state service as the Assistant Director for Business Services, Washington State Department of Fish and Wildlife.
Jim and his wife Lisa have one daughter and two grandchildren.
