Brad joined Walla Walla County Fire District No. 5 as a volunteer in 1974. District 5 provides fire and ambulance services in western Walla Walla County. He has served as a firefighter, emergency medical technician, Lieutenant, Captain, Training Officer and Assistant Chief. Brad was first elected fire commissioner serving Walla Walla County Fire District No. 5 in 1992 and is serving his 3rd term. In addition, he has served on several boards including the Walla Walla EMS Council and is Board Secretary for Columbia Basin Dive Rescue. Brad became involved with the Washington Fire Commissioners Association after being asked to serve as an alternate representative for Region 2 on the Association’s Board of Directors. He was later elected to that position. Prior to his election to the Board, Brad was appointed to the WFCA Health Care Committee in 2010.
Brad and his wife Janie have been married since 2002 and reside in Burbank, about 6 miles southeast of Pasco. Brad is a retired Distribution and Transmission Engineer and has recently been active assisting NoaNet build fiber optic systems in Washington State. Brad is a motorcycle enthusiast and is involved with a family riding group, the Patriot Guard Riders and the American Legion Riders. You will often find him attending meetings wearing riding gear if the temperatures are much above freezing.
